Top Ten August 19th
Tuesday, August 19th, 2008Ok, I’m officially one week late for my Top Ten but believe I have had a crazy week (and no, you really don’t wanna know LOL)…
So without further adieu here is my latest top ten!
1) Praise to the JBs-ATFC–I heard this song last week and immediately knew that it was going to be in my top slot!! This a great song and will undoubtedly be a hit in the clubs for a while!
2) Open Your Heart-Dirty South & Axwell–Still a favorite of mine and everyone else’s!! The song is masterfully done but what else can you expect from these two…
3) Touch Me-Chocolate Puma & Bingo P–WOW!! I love this song!! Alot of energy!! This is a primetime banger!!
4) Better Day (TV Rock Remix)-Dirty South & Paul Harris feat. Rudy–Now this tune has been out for a while but this remix makes a good song, great!!
5) Le Night Demoniator-Lina–I have to keep this in the top ten for two reasons. One, I still play this and get a great reaction and two, its FIRE!!!!
6) Electric Feel (Justice Remix)-MGMT–Mid-tempo banger for early in the night or early in the morning.
7) Children (Club Mix)-Dave Darell–Like I said in the previous top ten, this remix improves the song!!
Infinity 2008 (Klaas remix)-Guru Josh Project–I saw Moby play this at the Virgin Mobile Fest in Baltimore, the roof almost came off the tent!!
9) It’s Love (Trippin’)-South West Beats feat. Claudine Patrice–Hype Mix, Good Production and the singer sounds like Jill Scott=A Big Tune
10) Great DJ (Calvin Harris Remix)-The Ting Tings–Calvin takes a mediocre song and gives me a reason to play it…
Throwback Track of the Week–Tracey In My Room-EBTG vs. Soul Vision–I remember dancing to this song in Rhodes in 2000…It’s one of those tunes you don’t forget!!
Well thats it for this week!! Hit me with your comments and emails!!

Virgin Mobile Fest…
Monday, August 11th, 2008As I am writing this blog and recollecting my thoughts about the highlights of the second day at the Virgin Mobile Fest in Baltimore, I have to be completely honest and tell you that am completely drained and exhausted so please bare with me….
First off, I have to say that Virgin/Mr. Richard Branson did a superb job picking the talent that would grace the two stages and dance tent. The acts for the second day included Chromeo, Rabbit in the Moon, Deadmau5, Richard Hawtin, Moby, Armin Van Buuren, Lil Wayne, Paramore, Taking Back Sunday, The Black Keys, Iggy Pop, Stone Temple Pilots, Bob Dylan, NIN & Kanye West. Obviously not all of these groups/performers were great so I am going to put them into three sections Ugly, Pretty Good, Great & Rock Star Status…
Ugly:
Rabbit in the Moon–What a horrible show!! These guys were awful!! They are so reminiscent of rave music in the late 90s. One guy was a dead ringer for Will Farrell’s character Mugato from Zoolander!! I’m thinking they’ve been watching Matrix and Blade too much…
Can u really take this guy making music seriously!!! LOL

Lil Wayne–Pretty Bad…Only redeeming quality is when Kanye came out to do Lollipop with him. He just couldn’t hold the attention of the crowd…
Bob Dylan–Bad Show/Wrong Crowd!
Iggy Pop–Damn, please put your shirt back on…
Armin Van Buuren–Please, Please, Please…Read the crowd better….
Richard Hawtin–Who is the guy?? LOL That is the review I got from some folks…
Pretty Good:
Deadmau5–Played some great electro!!
Chromeo–WOW!! A really good show even people who don’t know their music loved it!! Virgin gotta put these guys on alot later than 12.30!!
Paramore–Sounded good for a pop band!! Had all the 16 year old girls singing along!!
STP–Hot Show!!
Great:
NIN–Trent Reznor killed it!!
Moby–His DJ set was so energetic!! He had everybody dancing even himself!!
Rock Star Status:
Kanye West–There were alot of great performers there yesterday. Only one Rock Star and thats Kanye!! This show was on the level of those great arena shows that you always hear about! He has truly come into his own!!
Overall this was a great show and can’t wait until next year!!

The Top Ten–August 5th
Tuesday, August 5th, 2008Whew!! What a week!! Alot of good music out there that I’m really feeling!! So let’s get into this!!
1. Open Your Heart-Dirty South & Axwell–These are my two favorite producers right now and this track does not dissappoint. I see this track being the track of the fall with its various remix incarnations…
2. Dance Wiv Me-Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris–I love this track!! One thing I don’t love are the remixes but overall totally solid effort…
3. Better Day (TV Rock Remix)-Dirty South & Paul Harris feat. Rudy–Now this is a great remix!! Go get it from the just releases PVD Cream in Ibiza…
4. Le Night Demoniator-Lina–This is still FIRE!! French Electro=Funky…
5. I Kissed A Hustlin’ Girl-Katy Perry v. A-Trak v. DImitris George–I’ve been getting a great response from this remix simply because it takes a crappy pop song and makes it ALOT better…If you want to download it then either go to myspace.com/dimitrisgeorge or hipsteroverkill.com
6. Everyone Nose-N.E.R.D.–Neptunes…Enough said…
7. Children (Club Mix)-Dave Darell–Alot of DJs and Producers have tried to remix this track. Some were ok and some were just bad. This remix hits the spot and is definitely ready for the dancefloor…
8. Great DJ (Calvin Harris Remix)-The Ting Tings–This remix is so right…
9. Electric Feel (Justice Remix)-MGMT–French Electro remix that makes this song a mid-tempo sizzler…
10.Get Down-Groove Armada–I am still loving the Calvin Harris remix…Alot of Energy on this track…
Obscure throw back track:
Supernature-Cerrone–Great Beat+Weird Lyrics=A great trackmade for the club…

Justice & Dior Homme…
Wednesday, July 30th, 2008I have just learned that Justice has done a 15 minute mix for the Dior Homme
Spring/Summer 2009 line. You can check it out at:
http://www.diorhomme.com/content/homeen.html
and you can download the mix at:
http://www.zshare.net/download/15955136a48f6101/
Now here comes my review…Now I’m going to preface this with
my love for Justice and the whole French Electro sound but this
dramatic moroderesqe composition loses something when paired with
a video of skinny French guys trying on clothes.
