    Justice & Dior Homme…

    Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

I have just learned that Justice has done a 15 minute mix for the Dior Homme

Spring/Summer 2009 line.  You can check it out at:

    http://www.diorhomme.com/content/homeen.html

and you can download the mix at:

    http://www.zshare.net/download/15955136a48f6101/

Now here comes my review…Now I’m going to preface this with

my love for Justice and the whole French Electro sound but this

dramatic moroderesqe composition loses something when paired with

a video of skinny French guys trying on clothes.

    The True Hipster Bike Shop

    The True Hipster Bike Shop

Ok, If you u know me well enough you know I ride a motorcycle and I have a single-speed bike…Its a nice-ass bike too.  A specializied langer boston edition that I got on the cheap at a snobby bike shop that shall go unmentioned.  They were really trying to get rid of them and would rather sell carbon fiber $5000 bikes/frames than sell anything that regular people could buy… (Disclaimer:  I don’t have anything against expensive bikes but I do have a problem with Bike Snobs/Sales People looking down at average guy wanting transportation and not wanting to break the bank to do it)

Recently, I needed to have some work done on it and I really didn’t want to take it to these shops that will charge an arm and a leg…So as I was getting work done on my motorcycle I spotted a shop called Bike Club.  I was immediately intrigued by the name and crossed the street and entered through a non-descript grey steel door.  Once inside the dimly lit store you notice bikes all over the place, bird cages, sculptures of the Virgin Mary and photos of various people.  One thing I noticed in the piles of parts they had everywhere is that it ran the gamut from entry level to high perfermance components. To say this place is eclectic is not doing it justice.

As I was looking around at what they had, Kevin the head mechanic/salesman asked me if I need any help.  I told him what I needed done and he gave a great price and told me that he could have it done in a day.  WHOA!  I couldn’t believe that it would be done by the next day and true to his word the bike was finished when it was supposed to…Those high-end bike shops are back-logged three weeks during the summer and most of the time there is a hierarchy system involved of who gets their bike worked on first.  So if you want to get a bike, get some work done or want to see a store that Cosmo Kramer would be proud of then do your self a favor and go to Bike Club…

    The Top Ten–July 28th

    Monday, July 28th, 2008

These are my Top 10 tracks that I’m playing right now…

They are definitely an eclectic group ranging from the radio friendly N.E.R.D. to French Electro.  Calvin Harris has got his hand on three of them (and NO, Calvin didn’t bribe me to put the tracks on here).  So look over the list and try to find these tracks.  Your ears will thank you for it…

1 Dance Wiv Me-Dizzee Rascal feat. Calvin Harris- This is my favorite track out right now.  Calvin on the beat and Dizzee on the mic is an unstoppable combination.

2 Bring it Down-Goose-Normally I don’t love tracks that are on commercials but this is really dope.

3 Le Night Demonator-Lina-Whoa!  French electro is killing right now and this is no exception…

4 Everyone Nose -N.E.R.D.-Chad and Pharrell do it again…

5 Get Down -Groove Armada- Two great remixes that you should def check out.  I’m partial to Calvin Harris’.

6 I Kissed A Hustlin’ Girl (DG Remode)-Katy Perry vs. Dimitris George vs. A-Trak vs. Simian-You know I had to put this on here…

7 Great DJ-The Ting Tings-Brilliant group with a brilliant remix!!

8 Finger Food-Benny Benassi-When I first heard this track, I really felt that I needed to play it out…Its an electro track, its crazy, I love it!!!

9 Children (Club Mix)-Dave Darell-Remix of the Robert Miles track that was bananas in 1996. This makes an incredible track better…and for DJs playable…

    10 Pocket Piano-DJ Mehdi-Beautifully produced track by Ed Banger’s DJ…

    Throw Back Obscure Track–

    Anybody Wanna Party?-Gloria Gaynor–

I picked this track b/c its the sign of the times…I can think back just to last week and people asking me “Do you party?” and the track was made in ’77.  Guess Gloria had a crystal ball…
